They came to the forefront by introducing a skin care product that is extracted from the Nerium oleander plant.  What makes this interesting is that, in its purest form, this plant is poisonous for human consumption.  Somehow, Nerium International has discovered a way to harness the extract of this plant and make it something of beauty; something to enhance ones’ beauty.  They’ve created an anti-aging cream from the Nerium oleander plant.

Don’t get me wrong here:

I applaud Jeff Olson for what he has done with Nerium International.

However, I will voice some of my concerns in this Nerium International review.  This review will cover the “12 Critical Success Factors in Choosing an MLM Program”, as they way I see it with Nerium International:

1. Company track record – Nerium International, as previously stated, has only been around since September 2012.  After checking the Better Business Bureau website, they don’t seem to have any complaints placed against them as of this writing.  In their defence, they are a fairly young company, so it make take some time for this to happen.  Only time will tell!
2. Financial strength – As I previously stated, they are a young company, so I cannot comment on Nerium International’s financial stability.
3. Strong management – Here is where Nerium International is very strong.  Jeff Olson is their Founder and CEO.  He was very successful in many of his previous MLM companies.  He was Founder of The People’s Network and a top leader in Pre Paid Legal.  He exemplifies MLM leadership, and I would say that that he gives me a good “vibe” with what he has done for the MLM industry.  He is definitely somebody that I would trust my future with.
4. Unique consumable products – This is one area that I can’t seem to shake a bit of uneasiness.  There are many companies that have anti-aging and skin care products; in fact, too many of these companies exist.  What does make it different is its main ingredient:  the Nerium oleander.  As I previously stated, the Nerium oleander plant is, in its purest form, poisonous for human consumption.  To make something that will accentuate someone’s beauty out of something like this is an amazing accomplishment!  My concern with a product such as this, being an anti-aging cream, is that really caters to mainly women.
5. Competitive pricing – I am not knowledgeable in this area, so I can’t make a comment on whether it is “competitively priced”.
6. High reorder rate – I am not in Nerium International’s “Partnership Program”, so I can’t make any fair statements as to reorder rates.  My only concern is that customers will probably not be reordering this product on a monthly basis, thus affecting your residual income.
7. Low attrition – Just as I previously stated in my last sentence, it is unknown how often a customer or “partner” may reorder the product.
8. Low personal production requirement – You must be able to maintain 200 PQV in Retail Sales to Personal Customers or 80 PQV from a Personal Auto-Delivery Order (ADO).  This is fair for the average Network Marketer, as it as fairly easy to attain this on a monthly basis.
9. Low entry costs – You can get started with Nerium International for as little as $80.00 (plus shipping), without any distributor kit.  I say this because some companies make it mandatory to also purchase a distributor kit when joining as a distributor.
10. Timing vs. trend – Many of the foods that we eat today contain harmful chemicals and preservatives, thus affecting our skin.  Here therein defines a need for an anti-aging product.  But, as I previously stated, there are many other MLM companies that have anti-aging and skin care products; in fact, too many of these companies exist.
11. Legal, fair, balanced compensation- There are a few areas that I take exception to with respect to Nerium International’s compensation plan.  First, their “Lexus Bonus” program may be structured to penalize somebody with a “less than favourable” credit rating.  If you cannot qualify for the “Lexus Bonus” (due to a bad credit rating or some other reason), then you will lose up to $1000 per month in bonuses.  That isn’t exactly fair for the “Average Joe” if they cannot “drive off the lot” with the Lexus. Second, they are taking aspects from other company’s compensation plans with their “3URFree”.  Nerium International is not the first program to have this incentive in their compensation plan.  Third, there is at least one area that the Nerium International compensation plan mimics the compensation plan of their competitors.  The payout is exactly the same with regards to the amount of commissions paid in relation to the amount of personal qualification volume.  Finally, the team commissions paid is significantly lower than many companies on the lower levels (i.e. levels 7 and 8).  Where Nerium International only pays 2% on these 2 levels respectively, some companies pay up to 5% respectively.  All that aside, Nerium International does have a portion of their compensation plan that is pretty darned amazing, and there’s no other company that I’ve seen has this.  It’s called “Endless Cost-Free Inventory”, and it’s very simple to explain.  Every time a rep signs up a new customer or a new rep, they get paid, but they also get another bottle of NeriumAD free that they can use for samples or sell for $80 to $110.  This is a great way for even the part-timer to get into profit quickly.
12. No risk – With any MLM company, there are certain risks involved.  The amount of money made is proportional to the time invested.

In summary, though Nerium International has a very strong Management Team, I feel that there are certain issues that I have addressed that make me say that Nerium International is a company that I cannot do business with.  Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but

I feel that these above issues make Nerium International a “deal breaker” for me.

• 179 people earned the position of National Directors (Average Income Every Month of $3,000 – $6,000 per month);
• 71 people earned the position of Presidential Directors (Average Income Every Month of $6,000 – $9,000 per month);
• 31 people earned the position of Ambassadors.  (Along with Ambassador comes a $25,000 Bonus and an Average Income Every Month of $10,000);
• 31 people earned the position of 1 Star Ambassadors (Average Income Every Month of $13,000);
• 11 people earned the position of 2 Star Ambassadors (Average Income Every Month of $15,000);
• 3 people earned the position of 3 Star Ambassadors (The company gives you a $100,000 Bonus when you reach 3 Star Ambassador);

MLM Car Bonus

There are many companies out there that offer car bonuses in the home-based business/network/multi-level marketing industry.  I’ve seen them in many different forms, and some just disguise them better than others. 

Don’t be fooled by all of the “fancy words” or “smoke and mirrors” with car bonuses.  I have many concerns with how some companies will reward (and “penalize” in some ways when refused) you for it:

1)  What is going to happen, hypothetically speaking, when you (or someone in your organization) loses their monthly qualification for their car payment?  Where do you think that payment is going to come from?  You’re probably right if you said “right out of my own pocket”!  I had a chat with a good friend of mine that’s in another company that has a car bonus.  He told me that he has to spend about a week out of the month calling his downline to make sure that they keep their volumes up so everybody can “stay qualified”.  One of his people fell below their qualifications, and lost their bonus money and status.  Ouch!
2)  What happens if your team falls apart or, worse yet, your company goes bankrupt?  You’re stuck in a long-term lease for a car that you can no longer afford.  Double Ouch!
3)  This is not really a “free” car, either.  Your ability to get that car also is very dependent on your credit rating.  If you have a “less than favourable” credit rating, your chances of driving off the lot with that new car is “slim to none”.
4)  If you refuse to take that car bonus, some companies will still give you that car bonus, but only up to half of the value of the original car bonus.  IMHO, not a very fair deal for the distributor that doesn’t want that “fancy car”.
5)  What happens when you have to maintain the car (i.e. oil changes, mechanical or electrical issues, etc.)?  Who pays for that?  Not the company that you are promoting!  Unless it’s part of the leasing contract, it will probably come out of your pocket.

My suggestion to these companies is to eliminate this “incentive”, as it only leads to a lot of hype.  Our industry already has too much of it!  Spread it around to more of the “Average Joes”.  An extra $50-100 in their wallets will go a long way to make them (and, in turn, the company) more productive.  A happy distributor is one who will stay longer with that company!

There are 5 reasons why I will never join Stiforp:

1.  Can’t perform a proper due diligence on the owner(s) – I deem it extremely important to know the history of the company owner(s), so I’m not involving myself with a person that has been known to run scams in the past,

2.  Don’t initially know what the company’s products are – This is disclosed to anybody, so how do I know what I’m getting for my money,

3.  Don’t know anything about their comp plan, thus I don’t know how I’m going to be paid for my efforts (if I ever chose to participate in this company).  It is important for me to know how I’m going to be paid for my efforts,

4.  With their current systems, I MUST opt-in with my contact information to find out about their company.  This means that I’m “growing their list”.  So what happens if this company closes their doors?  My contact information becomes part of their database, and it can be sold “to the highest bidder”.  Everything is hidden in a “veil of secrecy”,

5.  New network marketing businesses have a bad track record of not lasting.  Over 95% of network marketing companies don’t last past 5 years.

What has Stiforp got to hide from the people?  I’m not sure at this point, but I will not be part of that company if they will not allow me to know more about them.  I just don’t join companies unless I can do a proper due diligence on it or its company officers.

I am not necessarily calling Stiforp a scam, but there are too many “red flags” for me to make this a viable business to join.  Caveat emptor (Latin for “buyer beware”)!  I’ll pass on this one!

Number one is MLM Training. You will be able to find many free and inexpensive MLM Training Programs online. At this point, don’t even worry about which ones are good and which ones are bad. Just read – or watch, since many now have MLM Training Videos as part of their training – as much as you can. Look for the similarities in their approach. Review the kinds of offers they are making. Make notes about what appeals to you and what doesn’t. It’s essential that you not only understand all the basic MLM Training principles but that you also understand how people are presenting themselves and their business. One thing I can absolutely guarantee is that no one EVER made money in MLM without educating themselves. It’s unfortunate that many people have to spend a lot of time and money trying to succeed with their MLM business before they realize this.

Secondly, you need to understand the concept of Personal Branding. If you have found some good MLM Training courses, they will have covered this topic in detail. The key point is that you need to make sure that you have a personally branded destination as the centerpiece of all your prospecting and marketing efforts. If you are working online, you will need a website or personal blog. This site will be about you, your MLM business and what you have to offer. While it’s okay to use a capture site provided by your MLM company or some other third party, especially when getting started, you should realize that your efforts are branding them and not you. You will have very little chance to succeed with your MLM business until you recognize the importance of branding YOU.

Your third step is to find some peers and mentors to work with you. One of the best things you can do when you decide to join an MLM is to bring a friend or colleague with you. I realize that sounds like a recruiting tactic but the reason it’s important is that anyone who succeeds in MLM, does so with a strong team. It’s important for the members of your team to have varying skill sets and be able to work together. If you can bring these people with you, it eliminates the need to find them later and can really speed up the growth of your business. It’s also much easier to work though advanced MLM Training courses and develop marketing plans with a friend or peer. It’s a little more difficult to find a good mentor but if you reviewed enough of the MLM Training programs out there you probably encountered someone you would like to work with. The really good MLM Trainers have already had great success with their MLM business and are happy to help others succeed. Feel free to ask them for help.

At this point, you have spent a lot of time but you haven’t wasted any money or because frustrated with failure. Start with MLM Training, Personal Branding and Teambuilding and then you will be ready to launch your MLM career.

Your personal website does not need to be fancy or complicated. A simple blog with some information about you and your business is all that’s required. You should also have a lead capture form on your blog but you will need some reason for people to want to contact you. You could offer things like MLM Training or help with sales and marketing. Check out my personal blog for an example of what is required. It’s better to register a unique domain as opposed to creating a blog on Blogspot or Blogger or some other third party blogging services. As soon as you do that you are helping to build their brand instead of yours. If you don’t have the technical skills necessary to create a website or blog yourself, there are many companies that will create professional looking custom blogs for only a few hundred dollars.

The most important thing to understand is that above all else you must always be building your brand and not someone else’s. If you are using a capture page provided by the MLM company you are currently with, you are building their brand. If you use a MLM system provided by someone else, you are building their brand. It’s perfectly okay to use other systems and tools but you want to ensure that your prospects always start with you. You want them to visit your blog or website first. If you aren’t providing MLM Training for your members, it’s perfectly acceptable to provide a link from your site to a third party site providing the MLM Training courses.

By always directing your leads, prospects and members to your personal website/blog you can ensure that you are building your reputation with them. If you ever want to change to a different MLM company or offer new tools or MLM Training courses, links and information can be easily added without re-creating everything or directing everyone to a new site. In my MLM Training, I always try to emphasize the use of generic systems and tools which helps ensure that you are the brand as opposed to the company or products you are currently representing.

In some ways, your Personal Brand is the only things that matters. Many people who are new to the MLM business fail to realize the importance of this concept. They get so busy chasing after the latest tips and tricks and secrets that they completely miss the importance of their Personal Brand. There is an often repeated phrase in the MLM industry: “People don’t join your MLM business, they join you!” Through your Personal Branding efforts you can make sure that what you are presenting to all of the prospects out there is YOU. You can ensure that, from their point of view, you are the expert, you are providing the MLM Training and you are the one who will help them succeed. Even if you are taking MLM Training courses together and learning together, they will still remember that they visited YOUR personal website and that it was YOU who put them on the road to MLM Success.

Most of your potential prospects are not really looking for an MLM to join. They are really looking for a person to join. They are looking for a teacher, a mentor, a peer. If you make sure that you provide or facilitate quality MLM Training that covers these five areas, your income potential is limitless.

This is your time to shine! There are some very basic things you should understand before you get rejected by some family and friends and call it quits again.

No, this is not going to be a line about perseverance. This is going to be an obvious truth that your probably have not faced yet in your multi-level or network marketing business before.

Here is the big truth: If you want to have a successful business you must treat it like a business!

Let’s take a time out for an example. Look at your local exercise gym. Do they have regular business hours? Can you imagine if when they first opened they did not have set hours? How would you know when to go to work out? Have you ever set a regular schedule in your new multi-level marketing business?

Now let’s talk about what gets done in this “work time”. Do think the owner of the exercise gym only sat down to write about his goal and thought about them a lot. No, he took action. Every day he took action that would build his business.

It is important that when you set aside time to work your business, you do activities that will grow your business. Most of your time should be focused on putting more prospects in your funnel. In other words you need to be in communication with many people during your work hours!

By now I am sure you are getting the picture. It is vital to treat your new multi-level marketing business like a business. Anything less, you can expect it to fail because any business would fail if treated like that!

The next critical detail your multi-level marketing business NEEDS is for you to get proper training. As you can imagine the fitness gym owner had to take training on how to run and operate the equipment in their gym. Right down to the smallest detail, like running the cash register.

Keep in mind sometimes learning new things can be frustrating. Get over it. It will only get easier every time you do it.

Try implementing treating your multi-level business like a business and watch it grow. Focus at first on the training aspect. But, do not forget to apply as you learn!
